KA122 - Group mobility in Italy

The Beginning in Mortara: Preparatory Visit

The success of the project was founded in January 2025, when two teachers from our school, Ms. Niki Nikolaou (PE80/Assistant Headteacher) and Ms. Maria Vasileiadou (PE06), conducted a Preparatory Visit to the Italian school IIS Angelo Omodeo in Mortara. This visit was crucial for the detailed planning of activities and the coordination of pedagogical goals, ensuring a high-quality collaborative environment.

“Romeo & Juliet in the AI era”: A Digital Theatrical Experience in Greece and Italy

A highlight of the program was the performance “Romeo and Juliet: From Shakespeare to Artificial Intelligence”, presented in both Greece and Italy. The stage direction for both countries was handled by Ms. Konstantina Paterou (PE02). In collaboration with Ms. Kyriaki Lekka (PE05, School Erasmus+ Coordinator), they achieved an organic fusion of theatrical practice with digital applications, highlighting the possibilities of creative writing through AI.

The school’s KA122 Group Mobility took place from May 6–9, 2025, in Italy. On May 8, 2025, the 21 students and 3 accompanying teachers presented the project at the Mortara Municipal Library. The performance was the result of the eTwinning project “R&J’s AI Love Story / Roméo kiffe Juliette à l’époque de l’IA”, founded by Ms. Kyriaki Lekka (teacher of French) in collaboration with the Italian English teacher Ms. Mimma Laria (IIS Angelo Omodeo). Also participating in the eTwinning project were teachers Ms. Konstantina Paterou (PE02), Ms. Maria Vasileiadou (PE06), Ms. Niki Nikolaou (PE80), and Mr. Charilaos Karabotsios (PE86). Our students collaborated with their Italian peers, using AI tools to create digital sets, avatars, logos, and alternative dialogue versions. In this extensive network, besides the Italian schools IIS Angelo Omodeo (Mortara) and IIS Bachelet (Abbiategrasso), partners included the French high school ISM La Providence (Saint-Malo) and seven other Greek schools, creating a strong European learning community.

This innovative eTwinning project, directly linked to the KA122 group mobility (blended mobility), was honored with National Quality Labels in Greece and France, as well as the European Quality Label, confirming its pedagogical value.
