KA122 - Investing in Educational Innovation: 6 Training Courses
GEL Kallipolis, Individual training of 6 teachers of our school on A.I. issues.
The implementation of the second part of the school’s KA122 program (individual staff mobility) was based on the continuous development of the teaching staff. Six teachers participated in specialized seminars in European cities to cultivate AI Literacy, use advanced tools, and transfer valuable expertise to the Greek classroom:
• July 7–12, 2025: Dublin (Foreign Languages & Physics): The Director of GEL Kallipolis and KA122 Project Manager, Mr. Stefanos Oikonomou (Physics), along with Ms. Kyriaki Lekka (French) and Ms. Maria Vasileiadou (English), specialized in using AI to create differentiated and personalized materials. They learned to draft effective prompts for curriculum development, lesson plans, and exams, and utilized tools for creating multimedia content (images, videos, infographics) and gamified activities.
• July 7–12, 2025: Barcelona (Informatics): Mr. Charilaos Karabotsios (Informatics) delved into AI integration with an emphasis on Critical Thinking. The seminar covered tools for creating avatars and digital assistants, preparing students for future careers by understanding the ethical and practical aspects of AI.
• July 7–12, 2025: Berlin (Mathematics): Mr. Grigorios Gaitanaros (Mathematics) was trained in applications of ChatGPT and other LLMs, learning how to automate administrative tasks and create interactive problems adapted to each student’s level.
• December 1–6, 2025: Berlin (Biology): Ms. Dimitra Kontogiorgi (Biology) was trained in advanced environments such as DeepSeek, Claude, and Canva Magic Design. She learned to use AI for visualizing complex scientific concepts and reducing workload through the automatic creation of formative and summative assessments.
Currently, in-school training is underway to share these results with the entire teaching staff, while an upcoming seminar open to secondary education teachers in Piraeus is being organized to spread these best practices to the wider educational community.
